About Harkcon

Tim joined Harkcon in April 2022 and was brought on to support the FBI Leadership Redesign contract. Tim is currently the PM for Harkcon’s three Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration contracts.

Tim served as an active duty officer in the United States Coast Guard for over 21 years. His areas of expertise include tactical law enforcement, counter-drug operations, leadership development, and human resources. Operationally, Tim deployed twice to the Northern Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, commanded an anti-terrorism boat forces unit based out of Los Angeles-Long Beach, and helped stand up the Coast Guard’s first counter-terrorism unit after 9/11. Tim’s staff assignments include working at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) as a Cadet Company Officer as well as the Support and Special Assignment Officer (detailer). Tim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marine and Environmental Science from USCGA and a Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of New Haven.

Tim lives in McLean, VA and is married to Caryn Margita, a retired Coast Guard officer, who serves in the Office of Emergency Management at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC. They have three sons (20, 16, and 14) and two doodles - a Saint-Bernard poodle mix and golden doodle mix. Tim spends the majority of his time driving around his two younger sons for travel soccer games and tournaments and visiting his oldest son who currently attends Syracuse University.
